New for 2009
| Find out what's new for the 2009 seasons. |
1.9 Class
We will be running the new 1.9 class based on the USRCCA rules. Please see the rules page for the requirements for this new class. We will run this class after the 2.2 class and at the same time as the Supers.
New Min/Max Wheelbase for Supers
As per the 2009 USRCCA rules the Super class now has a minimum and maximum wheelbase requirements. Min of 16" and a max of 18". We will be following these requirements.
Fees
We will be charging a membership fee this year. You can choose either $2 per competition, or $20 for the year. This money will mostly be going towards prizes for at the end of each series, but will also help us with other items like pens, score sheets, clipboards, timers, etc. Fees will be due at your first comp. If paying per competition, it will be due during sign in of each comp.
Judges
We will be creating a list of judges. At each competition we will have the same judges judge everyone on their course(s). This will help bring consistency to the judges role. Hopefully we will have enough registered judges that no one should have to judge 2 comps in a row.
Timer Instead of Stopwatch
Again to help with consistency, we will be using a timer instead of a stopwatch. This way a beeping will occur when time on the course runs out.
Nationals Qualifying
The new process for Nationals qualifying consists of a pre-determined number of invites going to each state. It's up to the club(s) to determine how the invitees are determined. In Minnesota, we only have 1 club recognized by USRCCA. This new qualifying process will not affect how we decide our qualifiers. We will continue to use the Spring series to decide this. However, it is worth noting that with this new process there will no longer be any buy-ins to the Nationals.
